I was cleaning my bookshelf the other day when I realized a new book enough (I could have bought a few months ago, I did not read it yet) had plenty of page yellowing. It was next to an old book which has dark yellow pages. Is the distribution of yellow page book book old and new? What is the cause? Should I separate my old books and new from now?
Yellow pages are caused by the acid level of the paper. More acidity, faster and yellow pages brittle. In general, paperbacks and hardcover lower quality is used more acidic than the paper-bound books of High Quality. The acidity can not be transferred a book to another.
