Should I use a head cleaner before using another brand of tape?
I recently bought a Canon HV30, which uses Panasonic HDV tapes. I capture some pictures of my old sony mini dv tapes. you should use a head cleaning before and after start to capture?
It is strongly recommended that stick with the same brand and type of tape with DV cameras. No need to use HDV tapes to record HD video, you can use DV tape. Some argue that wish to use the HDV tape is not true. DV tapes I can use my two HDV cameras. In fact, I doubt anyone could tell the difference between HDV and DV tape constant records. If the camera is used and thought I could use a cleaning, then run a cleaning tape through it. But if your camera is new, so do not use the old Sony tape and just stick to one brand.
