Search
Due to the volume of files and emails that we treat, we need a search tool to find things that are better than the Windows search tool. I use a couple of them. First up is X1 (www.x1.com) that I've used for years. Find files and emails instantly and has a wonderful disposition in columns.
I also use Copernic (www.copernic.com) search tool on my family PC. It is sufficiently Fast, free and easy for my family to use.
Images
We are so visual these days, entering and using an image has become a necessity. To get there, I use the wonderful freeware utility Irfanview. Capture, HyperSnap use of (www.hyperionics.com) or SnagIt (www.techsmith.com). Both are excellent and that the movie clip right into your document or website very simple.
Backup Software
Do you think This category only if Lost an important file. Did you know that the loss of most electronic files is caused by the accidental deletion? It's true – we do it ourselves. So one of the backup Utilities witty and be safe. I use Mozy (http://mozy.com/) on my laptop, because I only have the documents and source files for backup. Mozy 2GB limit on the free version covers me well at this point. I pay close $ 5 a month (less if you pay all year) have Carbonite (http://carbonite.com/) running in my family PC. Simple and discreet, Carbonite backs tons of family photos, financial records and our many documents as soon as you miss your daughter's argument why you are The World's Greatest Dad.
To-Do List / Reminders
As a quick reminder, I use Stickies utility for Windows (www.stickiesforwindows.com). Create sticky notes in different colors in the office you can use to organize the things you do not want to forget. If you need these reminders (like me) in different places, then use Gubb (www.Gubb.net). I used a lot of things to do and find a list of Gubb responsible for being the best, they're easy, pleasant, resolute in their purpose. I use now.
Personal Labeler
If you have been sending a large batch of letters for the same purpose, you run a MailMerge and labels laser used. But what about those of us who only bills or send e-mail some letters per week? It's a long time (and careless typing like me) to write hand the envelopes. My solution is the Dymo LabelWriter 330 (http://global.dymo.com/enUS/Categories/LabelWriter_Printers.html). Enter the address once and after two clicks to get a label Out (print selection).
