What snare drum should I get jazz drummers!!?
I have about $400 dollars to spend on a snare drum and drumheads but I don’t know what brand or type to get! I play big band jazz mostly and combos every one and awhile. My favorite drummers at this present time (that I am listening to and studying) is Jack Dejohnette, Buddy Rich, Dave King, and Gene Krupa. Any suggestions welcome on any snare drums that would be great for the jazz I enjoy!!!!! Thanks
If you can find a cool custom drum like Battlefield, Truth, SJC, OCDP, Brotherhood, Shine on ebay for that price buy it, I’ve seen plenty go up for sale for around that price point.
But if not one of those go with pork pie like the dude above suggested they make custom drums as well, a friend of mine has a little squealer that sounds great!
