Why my printer just stops printing?
I have an Oki Data Microline 320 Turbo 9 Pin Printer. We print our invoices to this each night. And right in the middle of the print job it just randomly stops printing. I have changed the serial cards. What else could be causing it to just stop. I have to turn it off and back on and then reprint to get it to work.
Double check your interface cable connections, maybe re-seat them a couple of times. Check inside the printer. The printhead carriage rails can become sticky causing the carriage to stall. Clean them with some alcohol on a cloth or paper towel. Check your printer head gap settings to make sure it’s not to close/tight. It may need a good cleaning, check out and service by a knowledgeable tech. Some parts wear out (gears commonly as they’re plastic) and can cause intermittent problems.
It could be a bad or corrupt printer driver that needs to be reinstalled, but not too common. I have also seen where the actual program that you’re printing from cause similar problems.
