Why doesn’t the HP 58 Photo Cartridge fit the HP Deskjet All-In-One F2110 Printer?
HP confirms the 58 is the correct cartridge and should be installed in the left side of printer. They sent me another 58, but neither will fit the left side.
The photo cartridge does indeed replace the black. The whole idea of buying a photo cartridge is to add two additional colors to a regular 4 ink Printing System. With the traditional color printing, you are using magenta, cyan, yellow, and black. You keep the Color Cartridge in, so you still keep the magenta, cyan, and yellow. When you add the photo cartridge to the traditional color cartridge, you add light magenta and light cyan. You can see the photo cartridge also has black. Six color printing is best for photos.
Pretty soon, 8 ink printing will become standard. HP sells an $800 printer.
Another printing tip I can give you is the difference between the 75 and the 75XL carrtidge. When ever you see an “XL”, that means it has about 3 times more ink than the original. HP’s message is use 75 if you print once in a while; use 75XL if you print frequently. I recommend buying the larger catridge (XL) as long as you can use it up by the expiration date. The box will tell you when the cartridge expires. I especially recommend this if you have a newer HP that has its own cleaning system that has the rubber blades that wipe off the bottom of the cartridge. Often times, long period of no printing can clog the catridges. Newer HP printers are better at not clogging because of these blade wiping.
